What You'll Be Doing

Responsibility for managing the release of information against externally generated requests for Health Information in accordance with the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002, NSW with the guidance of the Health Information Privacy Manual 2015.

Selection Criteria
* An ability to acquire or hold a comprehensive understanding of the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 NSW, the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, NSW; the Health Information Privacy Manual 2015 and Health Information Privacy Principles to make consistent and accurate decisions to release health information.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both written and oral. Explain the requirements to access health information to family, patients and external third parties.
* Demonstrated competency to navigate, identify and extract pertinent information in health information related applications such as the electronic medical record (eMR), and the patient administration system, Adobe Pro and secure email applications.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and to work effectively in a small team supporting the delivery of an accurate and effective health information service.
* Experience in managing and prioritising a work load to ensure that deadlines are met and information is provided that meets the request.
* Evidence of a current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays as required.
