* Remuneration: Level 8 – from $123,044 + 17% superannuation

About The Role
The Senior Data Engineer will contribute to Cardiac AI, focusing on developing data resources, analytics, and tools to combat cardiovascular disease. Responsibilities include designing, developing, automating, and managing data operations, especially processing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in a secure cloud environment. The role involves collaboration with data scientists, cardiologists, neurologists, health IT teams, and AWS engineers to support AI-driven insights for cardiovascular health. The role reports to the technical lead of Cardiac AI.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain Python scripts for data integration, ensuring data quality and integrity. Manage AI models for de-identification and maintain registries and opt-out processes.
* Identify improvements and lead initiatives to enhance data processing scalability, reliability, and performance.
* Lead and execute ETL processes, including converting scripts to Snowflake SQL and creating synthetic data for testing.
* Collaborate with AWS engineers to ensure data pipeline quality.
* Document AWS cloud workspaces for ongoing data pipeline management.
* Participate in workshops and stakeholder meetings.
Candidate Profile
* Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related; postgraduate degrees are an advantage.
* Proven experience in software development, Python, DevOps, and cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake).
* Experience with ETL, SQL databases, and health data, including EMR.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to work independently and lead projects.
