Job Title: Financial Accountant
Job Description:
Miwatj Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to play a key role in supporting the delivery of Indigenous primary health care across East Arnhem.
In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing Finance Officers, resolving complex issues across transactions, and taking ownership of month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations, and audits.
You will also lead compliance and continuous improvement of financial systems, contribute to strategy as part of the Finance Leadership Team, and support organisational growth through strong financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Mentor and Develop Finance Officers:
* Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of Finance Officers
* Provide guidance and support to Finance Officers to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* At least three years' experience in accounts payable/receivable and team leadership
* Solid knowledge of accounting practices, financial systems, and digital applications
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
* Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills in cross-cultural environments
