Job Title:
Trauma-Informed Specialist
Job Summary:
This role is part of the Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) Program, which provides intensive and time-limited care for children or young people in statutory care.
* The Trauma-Informed Specialist will lead therapeutic interventions based on best practice expertise and contemporary research to deliver positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide trauma-informed leadership and interventions informed by a sound understanding of trauma, attachment, and developmental needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
* An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline is essential.
* Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a higher degree in psychology at master's level are preferred.
* Post-graduate training in relevant child, adolescent, and family clinical practice, family therapy, and systemic thinking is strongly preferred.
