About the Role
Business Abundance is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This position is available as full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate.
This is a senior role, ideal for someone who can work autonomously, review jobs effectively, understand clearly the differing types of small businesses we come across (including agribusiness), manage tasks efficiently, and mentor less experienced team members. You'll also contribute to driving growth and excellence across our accounting team.
What You'll Be Doing
* Delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis to small business clients (typically up to 30 FTE).
* Preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
* Providing strategic advice on tax planning, business strategy, and growth opportunities.
* Managing and mentoring other team members to help them succeed.
* Reviewing work from other team members
* Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity in the firm.
* Building and nurturing strong client relationships.
* Working flexibly and remotely, with full autonomy over your work hours and location as long as your work is up to standard.
What We're Looking For
* Extensive experience working with small business clients
* Deep knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to manage and mentor team members effectively.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to make complex financial information easy to understand.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
* Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing your own workload without the need for oversight.

* Be able to type fast and use a computer effectively.
* Be able to work from our Devonport office or a home or remote office setup that allows for productive, private and confidential work.
