Responsibilities Provide effective leadership and management of nursing staff and services within Critical Care Services at LGH, in consultation with the Director – Department of Medicine (DoM).
Lead patient care in an inter-professional environment to achieve the defined objectives of the Critical Care Stream within the DoM.
Collaborate with the Nursing Director Acute Medicine and Nursing Director Sub Acute and Ambulatory Services to align operational plans across DoM streams.
In conjunction with the Executive Director of Operations and Performance provide leadership and support on accreditation, patient flow.
Direct the operational activities of designated clinical services consistent with Hospitals North objectives and manage human, financial and material resources to achieve these objectives.
Assist in the development and application of clinical management policies, protocols and guidelines to enable evaluation of services against best practice standards.
Provide leadership and direction in research/education, continuous quality improvement and innovative redesign.
Manage clinical and corporate risk within the established framework whilst ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support Nursing Unit Managers, Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Educators to facilitate initiatives to enhance the quality of patient care in all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (essential).

Details of appointment Fixed term, full time, day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 1 February 2026.
Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
