Teacher - Edmund Rice Flexi School (Elizabeth) is a campus of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). Our school provides an educational and wellbeing service for young people aged 12 - 21 years, aiming to re-engage learners through flexible learning. About the Organisation
Edmund Rice Flexi School (Elizabeth) is a campus of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). We support young people to access a different way of learning and provide a high level of wellbeing and educational support to help them achieve outcomes identified in their Learning and Wellbeing Plans. Students can complete secondary schooling and access SACE subjects, internal and external VET courses and vocational training. We offer engagement activities such as music, health and physical education, art, catering/hospitality, community service, and other areas of interest.
About the Role
The Teacher reports to the Area Principal / Head of Campus. They work collaboratively with all staff and have delegated responsibility to develop and maintain learning and social inclusion responses for the campus. Responsibilities include:
- Planning, preparation and delivery of engaging learning and teaching programs for middle and secondary education, creating flexible, innovative curriculum to engage students.
- Plan and implement class and individual learning programs that meet legislative requirements regarding learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Adhere to Standards for Education, National Consistent Data, and National Disability Insurance Scheme.
- Build learning programs reflecting classroom diversity and cater for individuals with specific needs.
- Develop annual Personal Plans for Learning (PPL) for each student and contribute to ongoing evaluation of the process.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the campus objectives and planning.
- Contribute to a supportive school environment.

Who You Are (About You)
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Experience in teaching with strong operational, organizational and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with young people.
- High-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills in a complex organisational structure.
- Tertiary teaching qualifications and minimum of 5 years’ professional experience.
- Ability to diagnose problems, foresee issues and devise appropriate responses.
- Ability to lead and collaborate across teams with integrity and humility.
- Desirable: experience with disenfranchised learners from mainstream education.
- Experience developing creative curricula and differentiating instruction.
- Experience developing ILPs or PPLs.
- Knowledge of teaching frameworks and practices.
- Eligibility to obtain DHS Working with Children Check and SAVA clearance via the Archdiocese of Adelaide before commencement.
- Current C-class driver’s licence and willingness to travel (including minivan driving).
- Current First Aid and Responding to Abuse & Neglect training or willingness to obtain.
