Retail Support (Assistant) Store Manager
About the role
As a Retail Support Manager at Choice Discounts, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in overseeing the day‐to‐day operations of our Mermaid Waters store. This is a full‐time position that requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for the retail industry.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting in managing all aspects of store operations, including staffing, inventory, and financial performance
* Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers
* Leading, motivating, and developing a team of sales associates to maximize productivity and sales
* Implementing and monitoring store policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards
* Assisting in collaborating with regional and corporate teams to drive business growth and profitability
What we're looking for
* Minimum of 1 year's experience in a retail management role
* Previous experience in discount, department store or supermarkets is essential
* Strong merchandising skills
* Strong leadership and people‐management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
* Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to build strong relationships with customers
* Proficient in computer use
* Exceptional problem‐solving and decision‐making skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
* Ability to work a roster including weekends as we trade seven days a week
