Overview
Senior Electrical Project Engineer – Mining / Heavy Industry
* Location: Booragoon (6 months) and Huntley Mine, Dwellingup
* Contract: 12 months, strong possibility of extension
* Roster: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
* Rate: $115–$125 per hour, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and coordinate electrical engineering scope across capital projects.
* Develop, review, and approve electrical design documentation, scopes of work, and material take-offs .
* Design and specify electrical systems including power distribution, MCCs, switchgear, and control systems .
* Manage design vendors and contractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
* Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams during design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including Australian Standards.
* Collaborate with teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project design.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Experience on large capital projects in mining or heavy industry.
* Strong technical problem-solving and stakeholder coordination skills.
* Proven ability to manage vendors and contractors .
* Expertise in electrical engineering design, installation, and commissioning of complex industrial systems.
* Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
* Must have full Australian working rights .
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Professional accreditation (Chartered Engineer / CPEng) desirable.
* Experience with electrical design software and project documentation tools.
