Job Description
The Business Development Manager for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and groups is pivotal in identifying, nurturing, and converting potential leads into successful events. This role demands a proactive approach in cultivating relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and individuals seeking exceptional venues. You will leverage market insights, exceptional communication skills, and a strategic mindset to expand the organisation's footprint in the MICE market.
* Implement an effective lead management system, with prompt, professional follow-up on all enquiries, received through the website, third-party platforms, and other channels to optimise conversion rates.
* Maintain and update Salesforce for accurate pipeline management.
* Prepare accurate quotes and negotiate contracts to secure business, ensuring compliance with resort policies.
* Establish and grow relationships withagencies,corporate clients and event planners through networking and industry events.
* Conduct market research and monitor consumer trends to shape effective sales and marketing campaigns..
* Monitorperformance of sales initiatives and adjust strategies to meet targets.
* Liaise closely with internal departments (e.g., event planning, Food & Beverage, Front Office) to guarantee seamless execution of events.
This position can be based either in Sydney or on Daydream Island.

* Previous sales experience in a similar hotel or resort environment advantageous.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a polished, professional presentation.
* Strong problem solving skills and ability to remain effective under pressure.
* Excellent analytical, communication, customer service and organisation skills.
* Competent in Salesforce (Delphi) is an advantage.
