The Role

Join a leading healthcare team at Macquarie University Hospital as a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Pain Specialist. In this pivotal role, you'll provide expert nursing care and clinical leadership to the team, centered on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of pain in patients. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you'll bring advanced clinical knowledge, offer expert guidance, and play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients suffering chronic or acute pain.

We're looking for a highly skilled and compassionate nurse with a strong background in pain management and acute health, committed to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, patient advocacy, and staff education. Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients across inpatient, outpatient, and day surgery settings.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centred care.
* Educate, mentor, and support nursing staff through training sessions and professional development initiatives.
* Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, protocols, and quality improvement activities.
* Support operational management, including staffing, workflow planning, and resource allocation.
* Promote evidence-based practice through active participation in research and integration of current clinical knowledge.

To Apply

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1–2 page cover letter:

* Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Relevant Clinical Postgraduate qualifications (or working towards).
* Extensive experience in acute health nursing, with a demonstrated capacity for advanced clinical practice.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and educate staff.
* Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
* Experience in a Clinical Nurse Specialist or senior nursing role within an acute care setting.
* Experience in research or quality improvement initiatives.
* Knowledge of pain management.

Role Specific Conditions

* Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Up-to-date immunisations
* Valid Working with Children Check
* Up-to-date CPR accreditation
* Criminal History Check
