Manager/Senior Manager - Operational Risk - Equities
Join Macquarie Group as a Manager/Senior Manager in the Macquarie Capital team. This 9‑month contract role will help ensure operational risk is effectively identified and managed across our businesses.

What role will you play?
You will work closely with business leaders to support the effective management of operational, compliance, and conduct risks, enabling sustainable business growth. Key responsibilities include embedding risk management practices, providing practical advice to stakeholders, and supporting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Specific duties include:
* Partnering with global equities businesses to support compliance and operational risk activities.
* Supporting risk and control self‑assessments (RCSAs), including control mapping, assessment of control effectiveness, and follow‑up actions.
* Monitoring and supporting the development of conduct risk metrics and key risk indications, identifying emerging risks and trends.
* Managing incidents and issues from identification through to resolution, including root cause analysis and thematic read‑across the business.
* Designing and implementing transaction reporting control requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational discipline.
* Providing clear, practical risk advice to business stakeholders, balancing risk management expectations with commercial objectives.
Qualifications / What you offer
* Experience in operational risk, compliance, or non‑financial risk management within a trading business (cash equities experience highly regarded).
* Experience in developing risk governance materials including risk appetite metrics and conduct reporting.
* Strong working knowledge of RCSAs, incident and issue management, and conduct risk.
* Ability to analyse complex information, identify root causes, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence to influence at manager and senior manager levels.
* Well‑developed judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
