About Us
Weir State School was established in 1881 as a small rural school and has grown with the development of the city of Townsville.
The students at Weir are fortunate to have vast, beautiful grounds in which to spend their lunch times as well as a state of the art resource centre and multi-purpose hall. We believe our effectiveness in providing quality education for students is determined by the strength of the parent/teacher/child partnership.
Open communication and active participation are vital to any partnership, and Education Queensland is no exception. Our school policies are designed to encourage parental involvement in the life of the school and in the education of their children.
