Manager, New Business – Power Infrastructure
We are seeking an experienced and motivated power industry and client relationship professional to join AEC to support our business development and growth activities.
Working closely with the MD, CEO, senior leadership, and pre-contracts team, the Manager, New Business, will focus on driving revenue growth and managing client relationships within AEC's power infrastructure business unit and related markets.
Power Infrastructure is an emerging business unit providing project development, delivery, construction, and maintenance services in high voltage, substations, distribution, and transmission markets.
The role involves pursuing new business opportunities, building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, and developing strategies to increase project pipelines, conversions, and profitability.
The ideal candidate will have extensive industry knowledge of the energy markets in ANZ, including major project development, contracting, negotiation, and client needs.
This is a headquarters-based role with regular travel as required.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities through market research, promoting AEC's services, and developing win strategies and proposals.
2. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, including regulated, non-regulated, and private entities.
3. Translate AEC's vision and growth objectives into actionable plans.
4. Create market and project pursuit plans to expand AEC's project pipeline and market presence.
5. Support pre-contracts and estimating functions by defining and presenting AEC's value proposition, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
6. Conduct market analysis, gather industry intelligence, and monitor competitor activities and customer needs.
7. Lead and influence internal teams to ensure alignment and address client needs effectively.
8. Deliver strategic business development and CRM initiatives as directed by the MD and CEO.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Deep understanding of the energy infrastructure sector in ANZ, with an established industry network and reputation.
2. Leadership ability, effective communication, and influencing skills, with strong presentation capabilities.
3. Knowledge of power industry standards and compliance requirements.
4. A growth mindset with a proven track record of converting opportunities into successful outcomes.
5. Relevant tertiary qualifications or technical skills related to construction and energy infrastructure development.
Location: Ashgrove, QLD, with travel to sites and client locations as needed.
