About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for the clinical leadership of three teams (Newcastle Cannabis Clinic, Stimulant Treatment Program and Community Counsellors) on a day to day basis as well as holding a small case load.
You will support staff in intakes, clinical reviews, case load reviews, and you will be available for complex case consultation whilst supporting staff in skill development.
In addition to this, you will provide supervision to other DACS staff and to psychology Masters students on placement and you will also have access to clinical supervision if you wish to pursue opportunities for professional development including education and training opportunities.
This role will be supported by the Line Manager, District Allied Health Lead, and Senior Nurse Manager.
The successful applicant will need to be client centred with experience in providing evidence based treatment and also supporting other staff in this provision.
You will have great time management and problem solving skills and be able to review processes and develop strategies for improvements.
Where you'll be working
The Psychosocial Clinical Lead will be located at James Fletcher Hospital, which is in close proximity to Newcastle Beach.
You will be located with two of the teams you are leading the Newcastle Cannabis Clinic and Stimulant Treatment Program while the Community Counselling team is located at different sites across Greater Newcastle.
The teams consist of Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Counsellors and Nurse Counsellors.
