Monday – Friday | 5:2 Roster | Kilmore & Sunday Creek, VIC

Fixed-term (2 years) | Exploration Team | Start March 2026

At Southern Cross Gold Consolidated (SXGC), data quality is critical to discovery. As our Geological Database Administrator, you’ll sit at the heart of our exploration success — ensuring the integrity, security and reliability of the geological datasets that underpin one of Australia’s most exciting gold and antimony discoveries.

This is a newly created role, designed to free up senior geologists to focus on geology — while you take ownership of building, maintaining and continuously improving our exploration database environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Geological Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy and security of all geological and exploration datasets across the business.

You’ll manage data from field collection through to technical studies and reporting, ensuring datasets are validated, audit-ready and aligned with company and industry standards. This role plays a critical part in QA/QC, data governance and supporting exploration, resource development and external reviews.

Flexible working is supported, with the option to work remotely and attend site or office as required.

What You’ll Drive

🔸 Maintain and administer geological databases, ensuring accuracy, structure and long-term integrity

🔸 Import, validate and QA/QC drilling, geology and assay data from multiple sources

🔸 Implement and manage QA/QC protocols, audits and data governance frameworks

🔸 Manage data security, access controls and documentation standards

🔸 Compile and prepare datasets for resource estimation, technical studies and reporting

🔸 Support external audits, due diligence and technical reviews

🔸 Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve database performance

Who You Are

You’re detail-driven, methodical and take real pride in clean, reliable data. You’re comfortable working autonomously, but thrive in a collaborative technical environment where your work directly supports exploration success.

You bring a strong sense of accountability, enjoy improving systems, and understand how critical high-quality data is to geological decision-making.

Your Background

âś” Proven experience with geological database management systems (e.g. acQuire, MX Deposits, Datashed, Geobank or similar)

âś” Strong understanding of exploration workflows, drilling data, assays and geological logging

âś” Advanced database administration capability with a high attention to detail

âś” Experience with QA/QC processes and data validation

âś” Exposure to JORC and/or NI 43-101 reporting (highly regarded)

âś” Strong documentation, communication and problem-solving skills

🗓 Roster: Monday – Friday, 5:2 (part-time considered, minimum 3 days)

📝 Contract: Fixed-term 2 years
