About the role

Mercy Community is seeking a dynamic and experienced Case Worker to join our Family Intervention Program in Toowoomba. This is a Permanent Full-time position working with a supportive team. The successful candidate will support children remaining in their parents' care or assist with reunification for children involved with Child Safety. The team comprises members with diverse skills, guided by a Team Manager and Senior Program Manager.

Salary: $85,126.00 per annum (SCHADS Level 4) plus superannuation and salary packaging options.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Operate within the program’s theoretical framework, engaging families respectfully to promote dignity and self-determination.
2. Utilize the Strengthening Families Framework to support families in identifying their strengths, barriers, goals, and actions.
3. Assess family resources and external support systems.
4. Help families set meaningful, achievable goals for change, leveraging their resources.
5. Develop parents' practical skills to care for their children, improve home safety, and strengthen parent-child attachment within a strengths-based, evidence-informed framework.

Qualifications and requirements:

1. Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, or related discipline from a recognized institution.
2. Ability to obtain a positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check.
3. Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License.
4. Current and valid Paid Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check) or ability to obtain one.
5. Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
