On-Call Firefighter - MN1 - 458 Teralba role at Bendigo Advertiser
Location: Teralba Fire Station • Ongoing employment • On-call hours
Responsibilities
- Undertake a wide range of duties including community fire safety work, attending fires and other emergencies such as motor vehicle accidents or chemical hazards, community education on fire prevention and safety for school children, senior citizens and local businesses, and collaboration with other emergency services (NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Police).
- Be paid for attendance at incidents, training sessions, community safety and education activities.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
- Australian or Recent Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- Live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station
Minimum Availability and Attendance
At least 33% of all calls over a six (6) month period and a minimum of 80% of all calls received by the brigade during the compulsory availability in any four week period, together with no less than 75% drill attendance.
Training
Training is provided on an ongoing basis and covers all aspects of firefighting and rescue including basic life support, rope work, power tool use and community engagement skills.
