The Opportunity
Join our multidiscipline team as an Electrification Engineer – Systems Engineering and play a key role in supporting South Australia's train and tram assets. In this role, you will provide specialist engineering services and systems engineering support to ensure the reliability, safety, and long-term performance of electrification infrastructure.
You will collaborate closely with service providers, technical specialists, and stakeholders to deliver expert advice, review projects, and ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation. Your work will contribute to the planning, assurance, and management of operational assets and capital programs, helping to maintain consistent asset condition and meet strategic objectives.

About you
You are a technically skilled and solutions-focused professional with significant experience in rail signalling and electrification systems. You have well-developed expertise in electrification design, manufacturing, maintenance, and fault-finding techniques, underpinned by a strong understanding of the principles and practices of these systems.
You excel at planning, prioritising, and managing competing demands, both independently and collaboratively, ensuring deadlines and project objectives are consistently met. Your experience includes coordinating and supporting the delivery of technical services within complex organisations, conducting specialised investigations, analysing data, and applying sound methodologies to inform decision-making.
With your specialised skills in electrification systems, you provide responsive, high-quality advice and recommendations that support the delivery of large-scale technical programs. You are committed to maintaining accurate records, fostering continuous improvement, and contributing innovative solutions through collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
Educational Qualifications / Licenses
* Degree in Electrical Engineering Providing eligibility for membership as professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
Special Conditions
* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
