The Royal Queensland Agricultural and Industrial Association (RNA) is seeking an exceptional Senior Event Manager to lead the delivery of our most prestigious and high-profile events.
This is a full time fixed term role commencing in June 2026 for three months.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of official Ekka events, including protocol-rich functions, VIP engagements, and flagship ceremonies that sit at the heart of Queensland's most iconic annual event.
You will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of highly visible and complex events, including the Official Opening Ceremony and Dinner, Ekka 150th Anniversary Dinner, Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet functions, Beef Sponsors Lunch, Paddock to Palate Dinner, High Tea Fundraiser, Country Show Presidents Luncheon, and a range of President-hosted and industry receptions.
Working closely with the Chief Executive, President, and senior stakeholders, you will ensure every event reflects the highest standards of protocol, stakeholder experience, and operational excellence, with seamless execution from planning through to delivery.
About You
You are an experienced event professional who thrives in delivering high-profile, complex, and protocol-driven events with precision and confidence.
You bring strong experience managing large-scale events, VIPs, dignitaries, and senior stakeholders, and are comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.
You are highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You will also bring:
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills across executive, government, and industry groups
* Experience managing guest lists, RSVPs, and event administration with accuracy
* Ability to coordinate suppliers, teams, and logistics effectively
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong sense of accountability
* Commitment to WHS, compliance, and safe event delivery
* Experience with event systems (such as Momentus/Ungerboeck) and exposure to formal or civic events will be highly regarded.
