We now have an exciting opportunity available for a commercially astute Advisor, Power Investment & Analytics to join the Portfolio Strategy & Analytics team within our Energy Solutions division. This role is a permanent full-time position which can be based in Perth, WA or Brisbane, QLD on a full-time/permanent basis.
Reporting to the Manager of Power Investment & Analytics, you will partner with the Power Development teams providing operational and investment support for the development of business cases for power. This includes new developments as well as the expansion or enhancement of existing assets. This role will also support the strategic planning and budget cycles for power.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with power development teams in the identification of optimal power solutions to meet customer requirements.
* Provide analytical support for business cases including technoeconomic modelling, options analysis and decision support with recommendations.
* Interface with key corporate functions to ensure alignment of resources with Energy Solutions plans
* Monitor performance of recent investments and perform post implementation reviews.
* Extract performance data and/or develop assumptions to support modelling, along with maintaining asset models, acting as a key interface with Corporate Finance in the development of business case financial models
* Coach and develop junior team members
Your background
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as finance, economics or engineering (preferred)
* Extensive experience in a similar analytical role advising on budgeting and business performance and proven experience in energy/technoeconomic modelling
* Extensive experience in the power and gas industry, with strong commercial acumen and a solid background in negotiating and managing Power Purchase Agreements
* Demonstrated experience in similar analytical roles advising on budgeting and business performance
* Advanced excel skills and proficiency in python or VBA is highly desirable
