Role: Network Architect

Salary Range: 150,742–171,215 (Annual Gross)

Location: Perth, Australia

Roles and Responsibilities

- As a Network Architect you will be responsible for working collaboratively with high level design and provide services to assist and input into existing infrastructure by identifying customer and operational needs.
- Provide architecture and technology infrastructure strategy for the future direction by providing briefing on new technologies and services are available in the market place for the requirement; engaging and participating in new design, solutions and development activity.
- Design/Upgrades/Control/Configure existing Network and Security systems by monitoring the environment; identifying gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements, policy and procedures; solving highly complex issues.
- Migrate Legacy to SD‑WAN cloud solutions.
- Carry out implementation of network projects assigned, using established process and best practice principles.
- Preparing HLD/LLD (High level and low‑level diagrams).
- Prepare BOM, design documents and technical presentations to client.
- Work closely with Project Managers and client’s technical authority to ensure smooth delivery of project deliverables.
- Direct and guide complex network implementation. Design, install, configure, and test for data network for complex and heterogeneous networks.
- Possess good skillset of adopting new infrastructure knowledge and working with stakeholder for design proposal.
- Provide a threat intelligence feed so that customer can understand current trends, threats and make informed decisions about appropriate response actions.
- Proactively perform maintenance for service line such as: Failover testing; Device access audit; Configuration audit; Backup; Patch level validation; Document validation.
- Network – WAN/LAN/WLAN/SDWAN/MAN/MPLS/VPN and data communications technologies.
- Palo Alto Firewalls, PRISMA, SASE.
- Cisco ACI & Automation.
- Python & Splunk skills will be a plus. Desirable.
- Monitoring tools knowledge – Solarwinds, Thousand Eyes, New Relic.
- IP Routing protocols – BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRRP, LDP, RSVP, STP, RSTP, MSTP, Multicast, Policy based routing.
- Should have expert level knowledge of devices such as below: Cisco Nexus devices experience; SDWAN; Cisco SDA/DNAC; Bluecoat Security Platform – Proxy servers and Management Center; Cisco Web Security Appliances; CISCO ISE; Firewalls & Web Application Firewall.
- Should be able to undertake routine and ad‑hoc reporting including but not limited to access attempts; current status of rules and configurations; ruleset maintenance and other scheduled outages; results of periodic testing of the ruleset and alert mechanisms; operational outages; anomaly detection; and trending.
- A thorough understanding of architectural design principles.
- Years of experience: 10 years plus.
- Technical knowledge and experience in management of large enterprise customers network.
- An individual contributor capable of self‑directed work showing robust leadership and client relationship skills and who is focused on driving the complete network project.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills; customers handling and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong experience in implementing and supporting networks for mid‑to‑large corporate customers.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with designers, architects, sales staff, field technicians and external customers.
- Knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the areas of advanced networking.
- Exposure on Cisco/Juniper/Riverbed/F5 technologies and Data Center Networks.
- Ability to influence, persuade and mobilize internal/external resources to fulfil customer requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong & effective customer relationships.
- Well organised and able to do multi‑tasking, problem solving, troubleshooting techniques and strategic thinking.
- Analytical skills to interpret IT user requests and understand end user requirements.
- The Program Manager needs to bring in best practices and collaborate with the Project Management, Architecture and Application teams to create the Program Plan and accomplish the target state of the transformation in best possible manner and time.
- Candidate must be located within Australia – preferably in Sydney.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
- At least 11 years of Information Technology experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in directing and driving multiple large Data Center, Cloud or Infrastructure Transformation programs.
- At least 10 years of experience in end‑to‑end Program and Project Planning, execution including experience in Data center or cloud transformation projects and programs.
- Developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the program.
- Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners.
- Monitors program results against technical specifications.
- Achieve results through others by setting and communicating goals and metrics, monitoring progress; providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and reinforcing behaviour that drives high performance.

Skills / Competencies

- Solid knowledge of the IT Service Management framework, practices, and process experience in Information Technology.
- Service Delivery tasks such as reporting, customer relationship, SLA management, etc.
