About The Opportunity
As a Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM classification, ensuring alignment with the Australian Coding Standards and SWSLHD policies. You'll play a key role in supporting our mission to deliver safe, high-quality, and personalised care across our communities.
Your work will contribute to vital health funding mechanisms and support informed clinical and management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
* Analyse clinical documentation and abstract relevant clinical and demographic data.
* Assign codes using the ICD-10-AM classification system and Solventum Codefinder
* Maintain coding accuracy and output in line with NSW Ministry of Health timeframes.
* Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.
* Stay up-to-date with coding standards, policies, and continuous education.
What We're Looking For
* Previous/current work experience in clinical coding preferred or a strong aptitude, passion and eagerness to be trained as an entry level coder.
* Strong understanding of anatomy, disease processes, and medical terminology.
* Knowledge of DRGs, Casemix, and episode funding applications.
* High attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to meet throughput targets.
* Commitment to ethical coding and quality documentation practices.
