Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an international Christian organisation whose purpose is to bring help, hope and healing through aviation to people living in isolation and poverty.
Every 5.5 minutes a MAF aircraft takes off or lands somewhere in the world, transporting people who live in remote villages and assisting missions, churches, aid and development agencies and others working to transform the lives of remote and isolated communities.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to play a pivotal role in leading and directing Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAFI) operations as the Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region.
As the Regional Director Asia Pacific for MAFI, you will play a crucial role in our mission to reach the isolated communities of the Asia Pacific with the love of Christ. You will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to our programs in the region, ensuring that we are effectively meeting the needs of the people we have been called to serve.
Responsibilities
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong leader with a passion for serving others and spreading the Gospel through aviation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be responsible for implementing strategic priorities and ensuring operational excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration and service delivery aligned with MAFI's mission and values.
In your role as Regional Director, you will:
1. Develop and implement effective long-term strategies and short-term objectives in alignment with MAF's overall mission and priorities.
2. Lead and mentor the Asia Pacific Country Directors to facilitate effective program performance and support their leadership growth.
3. Oversee the training and development of staff and ensure staff are cared for on a personal, spiritual, and corporate level.
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external policies including HR policies, financial management, risk mitigation, and other regulatory policies.
5. Engage actively in the Operations Leadership Team, addressing operational challenges and contributing to strategic planning for MAFI across all regions.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
1. Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
2. Aptitude in verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning.
3. Ability to work within a values-driven framework, particularly when resolving conflicting priorities.
4. Extensive leadership and general management experience at a senior level within a charity/NGO context.
5. Strong strategic planning and organisational skills.
6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building abilities.
7. Commitment to MAFI’s evangelical Christian beliefs and values.
8. Familiarity with the Asia Pacific region and its cultural dynamics.
9. Experience in working effectively in a cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.
10. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
Lean Management, Agile Management, Development oriented, Missiology training preferred.
