Pastoral Practitioner - Bateau Bay – Part-time Position

This role within the Mission team provides meaningful pastoral care services to people in our care across Uniting Bateau Bay. It focuses on using Uniting's values and principles that are culturally relevant, age-appropriate, and sensitive to the needs of those receiving our services.

Role Overview
As a Pastoral Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
1. Contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Pastoral Care Team
2. Engaging in effective and nurturing relationship management
3. Maintaining ongoing professional, personal, and spiritual development
4. Maintaining appropriate documentation and reporting
Essential Criteria
Qualifications:
* One or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent
* Relevant pastoral or theological study
Your experience should include:
* Understanding and experience working with teams in large, complex church or non-profit organizations
* Understanding of pastoral and spiritual needs of service recipients
* Empathy and affinity with vulnerable populations
* Knowledge of the distinctions between Religion and Spirituality
* Basic understanding of various faiths including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism
* Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with moderate computer skills
* A passion for social change and contributing to organizations that support the disadvantaged
Preferred:
* Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
