Senior QA Tester Clerk Grade: 9/10 Employment Type: Full-time, temporary 12 months Location: 4 Parramatta Square (base) and Rawson Place, Sydney as required from time to time. Hybrid working, which is subject to change based on team needs or broader divisional and DCS flexible work policies. This role sits within the NSW Fair Trading in the Digital team. About the team NSW Fair Trading is responsible for the administration of property and consumer protection laws in NSW. The Fair Trading Digital team partners with stakeholders across the agency to design, build, and maintain digital solutions that support regulatory services. As part of the multi-year Digital Modernisation Strategy, the team requires robust testing capability and mature end-to-end quality assurance practices across the Salesforce platform and its integrated ecosystem. About the role The Senior Tester plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Salesforce platforms and connected systems. You will have deep expertise in software quality assurance processes and be jointly responsible, along with the Test Manager, for the end-to-end functional and non-function testing lifecycle. Working closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers, and other team members, the Senior Tester ensures that business requirements are accurately translated into testable conditions and that releases meet the quality required for production deployment. This role is hands ‑ on and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on quality, detail, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities · Quality planning & test design: Translate business and technical requirements into clear test strategies, scenarios, and test cases that provide full functional, integration, system, and end ‑ to ‑ end coverage. Define acceptance criteria, prepare and manage test data across environments, document results, and conduct regression and smoke testing for iterative releases. · Salesforce functional & end to end testing: Execute comprehensive end ‑ to ‑ end testing of Salesforce features, configurations, and customisations. Validate key business workflows including approvals, flows, record ‑ triggered automation, assignment rules, and formula logic. Perform system testing, regression, smoke tests, UAT support, and release validation throughout deployment cycles · Environment, configuration & data quality assurance : Verify permissions, profiles, role hierarchies, sharing settings, and configuration updates. Confirm expected behaviour across all user personas and access levels. Perform data validation for transformations, loads, and migration activities. · Automation & tools: Contribute to the design and development of automated test scripts using Salesforce native automation tools. Maintain automated regression suites to support ongoing and continuous testing. · Defect & risk management: Investigate defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and impact analysis. Support defect triage, work with engineering teams to prioritise and resolve issues, and proactively identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and potential impacts for escalation to the Test Manager or Principal Delivery Manager. · Collaboration & Agile delivery: Partner with Product Managers and Business Analysts to clarify requirements and align test coverage with business outcomes. Work with Salesforce Testers and developers to validate fixes, maintain stable environments, and ensure releases are well tested, documented, and approved. Support UAT preparation, execution, and issue management. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand ‑ ups, and retrospectives. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate (required attributes): · Extensive experience with manual functional, regression, SIT, UAT, end-to-end, integration testing, automated, and smoke testing · Knowledge of Salesforce data model, standard objects, custom objects, workflows, profiles, permission sets, and sharing settings is preferred. Salesforce certification is desirable. · Strong experience with test management tools such as Jira & Zephyr and test automation frameworks (such as Selenium or Tosca). · Experience with writing SOQL queries for backend validation; API testing using Postman, Workbench, or similar tools; Apex to interpret business logic and troubleshoot issues. · Experience with data quality testing and validating data migrations · High level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and debugging skills · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Work habits that prioritise outcomes, through commitment to speed, flexibility and quality of deliverables with minimal supervision Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at 129,464 base plus superannuation Click Here to access the Role Description.
