We're now seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager to elevate this landmark venue and shape its presence in the Melbourne hospitality scene.
About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead the commercial, brand and customer experience strategy for one of Melbourne's most anticipated openings.
Reporting to the General Manager – Hospitality, you'll take ownership of all sales, marketing and brand activation activity for The Angel of Malvern – from driving function and event revenue, to executing the venue's annual marketing plan, managing digital channels and strengthening our brand within the community.
You'll be the strategic and creative force behind how the venue is positioned, perceived and chosen, building its profile from opening day and driving its growth long after.
This is a hands‑on, fast‑moving role suited to someone who combines strong commercial insight with creative thinking, impeccable organisation and a deep passion for hospitality.
What You'll Do
* Lead all event and function sales, managing inbound enquiries, proposals, site visits and client relationships
* Develop strategies to maximise event conversion, seasonal opportunities and repeat business
* Build strong relationships with local businesses, event partners and community groups
Marketing & Brand Management
* Execute the venue's annual marketing plan, aligned with brand standards and commercial targets
* Manage digital channels including website content, social media, EDMs and campaign rollouts
* Oversee photography, videography, promotional content and brand assets
* Develop and deliver marketing campaigns, partnerships and activations that drive foot traffic and bookings
Customer Experience & Insights
* Monitor guest feedback, online reviews and market trends to improve venue performance
* Work collaboratively with Operations and Kitchen to ensure consistent brand experience
* Identify opportunities to enhance customer engagement, loyalty and satisfaction
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Work closely with the General Manager, Head Chef, FOH leaders and Kokoda's central team
* Support broader corporate hospitality initiatives and cross‑venue opportunities
* Provide reporting, insights and performance updates to senior leadership
About You
You're creative, commercially minded and energised by the fast pace of hospitality. You understand how marketing, brand and sales come together to create a venue people fall in love with.
Skills & Experience
* 4–6+ years' experience in hospitality marketing, event sales or venue management
* Proven success driving function and event revenue
* Strength in marketing strategy, digital channels and brand execution
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and internal teams
* A hands‑on, proactive and organised approach with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work at pace in a high‑volume, high‑change environment
* Passion for hospitality, guest experience and storytelling through brand
