About the Opportunity

The Tradesperson (Maintenance Supervisor Gde 1) Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS) is a hands‐on, independent role suited to a trade‐qualified professional who will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks including plumbing, carpentry, general labouring and building upkeep across Forensic & Analytical Science facilities. This hands‐on role is ideal for a trade‐qualified professional who can perform preventative and reactive maintenance tasks to maintain infrastructure across different locations.

What you'll be doing

* Repairing doors and locks and minor handyman work
* Building upkeep including sweeping and blowing of roads
* Manual handling and labour including digging of holes
* Cleaning and upkeep of plantrooms and other areas.
* Reactive minor plumbing issues, including clearance of drainage obstructions

Interested in joining

* Current Trade Certificate in electrical, plumbing, carpentry or similar.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering facilities maintenance services within healthcare, government, or similarly regulated environments
* Demonstrated sound understanding and application of relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards in the areas of Facilities Management and work health and safety principles and guidelines.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience of business concepts and basic computer literacy skills, including use of maintenance systems and documentation tools
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
* Demonstrated experience in coordinating and overseeing contractors or service providers, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
* Current NSW Drivers License and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes
