About the Role

Classification for this position will be determined by your skills, experience and qualifications, ensuring you are appointed at the level that best reflects your professional capability. Whether joining us as an AHP2 Clinical/Health Psychologist or stepping into the AHP3 Senior Clinical/Health Psychologist role, you will contribute meaningfully to the work of the CALHN Metabolic and Bariatric Clinic (CMBC) as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping patients achieve sustainable health outcomes.

In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical and health psychology assessments and therapeutic interventions, supporting patients to identify barriers to lifestyle change and build the readiness, motivation and skills needed for lasting behavioural modification. At the AHP3 level, you will also contribute to service planning, evaluation, research and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to evolve the CMBC model of care to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and the overall patient experience. Across both classifications, your expertise will play a vital role in empowering patients and supporting their long-term wellbeing.

About You

You are a skilled and insightful psychologist who is passionate about supporting individuals facing complex health challenges and driving meaningful behavioural change. Whether joining at the AHP2 or AHP3 level, you bring strong clinical capability, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering evidence-based, person-centred care within a multidisciplinary environment.

Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate psychological interventions—individual, group and family—with strong capability in assessing and resolving complex clinical issues, managing ethical considerations, and providing specialist consultancy to internal and external stakeholders.

* Research, evaluation & service development
Experience conducting research, evaluating clinical outcomes and contributing to service improvement, with AHP3 applicants demonstrating strategic thinking, initiative and leadership in developing and enhancing psychological service delivery.

* Collaboration, communication & multidisciplinary practice
