The primary purpose of this role is to underwrite business in accordance with AAL Underwriting Framework, Allianz Standards for Underwriting (ASU) and delegated authority levels.
About the role
* Design and review underwriting solutions that balance customer needs, commercial goals, and long‐term portfolio health.
* Build and nurture trusted relationships with brokers, customers, and internal partners, offering guidance, clarity, and responsive support.
* Steward underwriting decisions with care and accountability, ensuring alignment with authority levels, strategy, and risk appetite.
* Contribute to sustainable portfolio performance by monitoring trends, sharing insights, and supporting continuous improvement.
* Uphold governance and compliance with diligence and integrity, ensuring decisions reflect best practice and organisational values.
About you

* Experience within a commercial or operational underwriting environment, demonstrating thoughtful judgment and collaborative decision‐making.
* The ability to interpret complex information with care and curiosity, translating insight into balanced, well‐reasoned outcomes.
* A structured yet flexible approach to managing priorities, enabling calm navigation of competing demands in a dynamic environment.
* Strong relationship‐building and communication skills that foster trust, shared understanding, and constructive outcomes.
* A commitment to learning, quality, and continuous improvement, with confidence engaging across teams and insurance structures.
* A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
