We're seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our INPEX Operations Support team in Perth on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity to contribute to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a world‑class LNG facility while working alongside a diverse group of technical and operational professionals.
About the Role:
As a Senior Process Engineer, you'll provide practical and analytical process engineering support across our LNG, Combined Cycle Power Plant, and Utilities systems. You'll work closely with operations and support teams to solve problems, assess risk, and identify opportunities to improve performance and reliability.
The role values sound technical judgement, clear communication, and collaboration. There is scope to grow into a technical authority role over time, supported by knowledge sharing and development within the team.
Key responsibilities:
Provide senior process engineering support to ensure safe, reliable, and optimised plant performance.
Influence technical direction and act as a trusted advisor to operations and leadership, with scope to develop into a technical authority role.
Lead or contribute to process studies, simulations, and technical assessments.
Develop and maintain high‑quality process documentation and engineering standards.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, HSE, and commercial teams to address operational challenges and improvement opportunities.
Participate in risk assessments, HAZOPs, and technical assurance activities.
Monitor operating envelopes and support responses to emerging threats to production, safety, or reliability.
Support compliance with relevant safety cases, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and succession planning.
What we're looking for:
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences. You will be a strong fit for this role if you bring:
A degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience in process engineering, ideally within LNG, energy, or downstream processing environments.
Knowledge of process safety principles, operating limits, and equipment reliability.
Experience using process or operational tools such as HYSYS, OLGA, SCADA, or similar (training can be provided for some systems).
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to engineering change processes.
The ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and in discussion.
A structured, thoughtful approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
This role is for applicants residing in or willing to relocate to Perth.
