Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant – Rural NSW
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading regional referral hospital in rural NSW as a full-time, permanent O&G consultant. You will provide high-quality clinical and non‐clinical services to a growing community with approximately 1,000 births per year, offering strong clinical exposure across obstetrics and gynaecology in a well‐supported environment. This role allows you to practice at consultant level while making a genuine impact in a close‐knit regional community.
Location
Tamworth, population approximately 70,000. It is well connected with daily flights to Sydney and Brisbane and reliable road and rail links.
Facility
300‐bed hospital, the largest healthcare facility in NSW outside the Sydney–Wollongong–Newcastle metropolitan corridor. Accredited for specialist training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), ensuring excellent junior medical support and a strong academic culture.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‐quality clinical and non‐clinical obstetric and gynaecologic services to a community with approximately 1,000 births per year.
* Practice at consultant level and contribute to service development and clinical leadership.
* Support junior medical staff and aid in specialist training.
Qualifications and Opportunities
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG).
* Registration as a Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or eligibility for specialist registration.
* Doctors sitting RANZCOG clinical examinations are encouraged to apply.
* International Medical Graduates assessed by RANZCOG as Substantially Comparable are welcome.
