Interim Finance Manager (Maternity Leave Cover)

Contract: 12–14 Month Fixed-Term Contract
The Company
A well-established organisation operating within the energy sector, supporting the delivery of essential infrastructure and energy services across Australia. With continued growth and investment in the sector, the business is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the team on an interim basis to cover a period of maternity leave.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Interim Finance Manager will take ownership of core finance operations while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of financial reporting, budgeting, and commercial analysis during the contract period.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the monthly management reporting cycle, including variance analysis and board-level reporting packs
* Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes
* Deliver financial insights and analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making
* Oversee general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls
* Support capex and project finance analysis, particularly across infrastructure and energy-related projects
* Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital
* Support year-end processes and external audits
* Partner with operational teams to identify cost efficiencies and financial improvements
* Ensure continuity and stability within the finance function during the maternity cover period
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Finance Business Partner role
* Strong experience across financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
* Experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities, or similar capital-intensive industries is advantageous
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Able to step into a role quickly and add immediate value
