Mine Surveyor Role
The role of Mine Surveyor involves the mapping and measurement of underground mine workings. This is a key responsibility in ensuring safe mining practices.
* Set up drill plans ahead of time to maximize efficiency.
* Reconcile development and stope data on a monthly basis.
* Collaborate with Senior Mining Engineers and Mine Foremen to prioritize survey tasks.
* Conduct regular cavity monitoring scans in open stopes and historical areas.
* Perform diamond drilling set outs and collar pickups as required.
* Train and mentor junior surveyors in correct methods and standards for Underground Surveying.
Requirements
Key skills and qualifications include:
* Strong understanding of underground mining principles and practices.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
* Proficiency in using Surpac and Deswik Software, as well as Leica Instruments.
* Able to obtain a Mine Surveyors' Certificate Grade One (1).
