The disputes team acts for local and international insurers, listed and private companies, financial institutions, government entities and large privately owned businesses. Matters frequently involve complex contractual and indemnity issues, multi party disputes and proceedings across various state and federal courts and tribunals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of litigated and pre litigated disputes, with guidance from senior practitioners
* Work across a wide range of matters including contract and trade practices disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct claims and debt recovery
* Act on complex insurance related disputes for corporate and government clients where relevant
* Assist on significant construction and infrastructure disputes, including security of payment issues, defect claims and delay or variation disputes
* Support regulatory investigations and enforcement matters with exposure to regulators and Royal Commission style processes where they arise
