About the Role
As a professional in mental health service delivery, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with psychosocial disabilities to participate fully in their communities.
This position involves working with adults and young people, as well as early childhood intervention, to make a positive impact in the lives of those served.
Key Responsibilities:
* Empower individuals with psychosocial disability to participate fully in their communities and enhance their capacity for social and economic participation.
* Strengthen their ability to coordinate and implement supports in their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) individualised funding packages.
* Support engagement with mainstream, formal, and informal services.
* Develop capacity and resilience in their network.
* Develop a recovery-enabling relationship with individuals, including their family and carers.
* Support individuals to develop and implement their individual recovery plan.
* Coach individuals to increase recovery skills and personal capacity, including motivation, strengths, resilience, and decision-making.
* Collaborate with broader systems, including available services and resources.
* Support individuals to become active participants in the NDIS.
Requirements
Qualifications:
* Cert IV in a community services-related discipline or higher qualification.
Experience:
* Human services environment, particularly experience in understanding service delivery and how it can best deliver for clients with persistent and complex mental health.
* Assisting participants to test their eligibility for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or transition them to other appropriate supports.
Skills:
* Highly-developed communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies, and other professionals.
* Ability to meet deadlines in a high-demand work environment and exercise judgment and initiative.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Clearances:
* Working with Vulnerable Children clearance.
* NDIS worker screening clearance.
Other:
* Current Driver's License.
