We are currently looking for a Legal and Governance Assistant to report to our Director of Legal and Governance. This is a permanent part time role working 3 days a week, ideally based in Orange however we can be flexible on location for the right candidate.

The Legal and Governance Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative, coordination and project support to the Legal and Governance team, to ensure effective corporate governance across the Housing Plus Group.

Specific tasks will include:

- Providing support to the Board and sub-committees through scheduling, agenda preparation, collation of papers and back-up support for minute taking;
- Maintenance of various governance registers;
- Supporting the development of governance and compliance reports, policies and procedures;
- Assisting with annual governance processes;
- Document control;
- Supporting the tracking and reporting of compliance obligations, accreditations and renewals; and
- Data collection for governance KPI reporting.

To be successful, you will require:

- Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in a governance, legal, or corporate environment.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Relevant qualifications in Business Administration, Governance, Legal or related discipline and/or experience supporting Boards or Committees in the not-for-profit, housing, or government sector is highly desirable. Familiarity with governance platforms and an understanding of the Corporations Act, ACNC Act, and community housing regulatory environment is also an advantage.

You will also need the ability to obtain a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
