We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support maintenance and reliability across a network of regional manufacturing sites.
This is a hands‐on role where you will ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of plant and equipment by delivering effective maintenance strategies. You will provide both technical expertise and practical support, particularly at sites without dedicated maintenance teams, while coordinating contractor activities and contributing to shutdowns and continuous improvement initiatives.
The role is based in Port Kembla and involves occasional travel to support sites in Wyong, Narangba, Port Alma, Townsville, and Auckland Point.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide maintenance and reliability support across multiple regional sites
* Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities with contractors
* Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and statutory requirements
* Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
* Conduct site inspections and deliver hands‐on technical support
* Lead fault finding activities to improve plant reliability
* Maintain accurate asset data and optimise maintenance within CMMS
* Drive continuous improvement across maintenance processes and systems
Who are we looking for?
You are a practical, hands‐on engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys working across multiple sites.
You will bring:
* Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
* Eligibility for registration with Engineers Australia's National Engineering Register (NER) and as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
* Existing NER and/or RPEQ registration will be highly regarded
* 3–5 years' experience in plant maintenance within industrial or processing environments
* Strong hands‐on experience supporting plant and equipment
* Experience using CMMS (e.g. MEX, SAP)
* Knowledge of plant compliance and statutory requirements
* Experience in fault finding, condition monitoring, and root cause analysis
* Solid understanding of maintenance and asset management principles
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
