About the Role We are seeking an experienced and results driven sales leader with a passion for the luxury hotel industry. In this role, you will be responsible for driving new business conversion across all high-yielding segments, leveraging a strategic and proactive sales approach to optimise rooms, catering and total revenue performance in alignment with the hotel’s commercial objectives. You will lead the development and execution of integrated sales strategies that maximise market share, strengthen brand positioning and deliver sustainable revenue growth across all channels. Your leadership will be instrumental in building, inspiring and guiding a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and commercial success. A little taste of your day-to-day Predominantly target new business conversion for assigned segments which could include as well as driving catering revenue to meet and exceed revenue and profit targets. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet services Understand long range forecast of the business and what tactical measures and pricing strategies are required to meet budgeted revenue targets. Tailor RFPs/proposals. Actively pursue opportunities and lead tactical campaigns to secure new business, create an ongoing pipeline, and successfully shift business from the competition through active engagement with the customer via voice conversations. Monitor progress towards sales goals and adjusts actions, as necessary. Monitor competitor practices and strategies in order to understand competitor trends and ensure each product and services are ahead of the competition. Attend and where appropriate lead team meetings and revenue/yield meetings. Support and drive sales initiatives for each property with client entertainment, familiarisations, and other events that form part of the sales and marketing plan. Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends Support the Groups and Events team with on the job coaching in proactive sales Assist to drive through period, seasonal and tactical revenue by creating, implementing & managing a pipeline of targeted campaigns for designated segments Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in development and preparation of the hotels and departments annual business plan and operating budget In the absence of the DOSM, deputise and take on additional responsibilities and duties if required Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends Assist in forecast accuracy for both C&E & rooms revenue Hands on leadership of the team to encourage continual development of all direct reports and foster a positive work environment for all employees. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular performance feedback to improve team performance, reward and recognise achievements, develop succession plans and identify high potentials. What we need from you Holds unrestricted full working rights in Australia (please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position). Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience leading a high-performing sales team within the international luxury hotel sector. Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed ambitious sales targets, contributing to sustained business growth. Proficient in industry-standard systems, including but not limited to Delphi, I-Know reporting, and MeetingBroker. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior stakeholders. Proven leadership in motivating and managing successful sales teams, fostering a culture of performance and accountability. Tertiary qualifications in business or a related discipline. Highly organised with strong time management skills, capable of performing under pressure and managing competing priorities.
