About the role
The Mater Hospital Administration team has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join the Public Pre-Admissions Team in a permanent, part-time capacity.
This position is critical for managing endoscopy bookings in a high-volume environment where accuracy and attention to detail are essential to patient safety and service efficiency.
The Senior Administration Officer plays a key role in the delivery of exceptional service to Mater patients, relatives and staff.
This position is a front of hours Senior Administration Officer, and your role will involve but not be limited to:
Providing exceptional customer service to patients and clients
Processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges, and the preparation of clinical forms
Maintain a high level of discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality, complying with administration and financial policy and procedures
Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills, including ability to draft routine correspondence on behalf of the senior management
Manage, organise and provide confidential administrative support to the department, ensuring areas are efficiently managed and represented with strong customer focus to staff, patients, clients, and visitors with effective communication between various sections within the hospital
Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be:
Highly experienced in providing medical administrative support
Highly developed time management and organisational skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Able to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
Certification/tertiary qualification in Business Administration (or similar) highly regarded
