About The Role
We're seeking a hands-on, commercially minded Procurement Specialist to build and lead a new procurement function within our aged care team. This high-impact role will focus on streamlining a large supplier base, establishing a preferred provider list, and embedding consistent, value-driven procurement practices. You'll combine strategic thinking with practical execution to drive quality, compliance, and operational efficiency across the organisation.
This is a 3-month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities Include
* Implement an existing supplier evaluation model and streamline provider lists
* Establish and govern a preferred supplier framework for client services
* Develop and embed procurement policies, templates, and workflows
* Lead sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award processes
* Maintain a contracts register and oversee contract management
* Deliver procurement training and tools to internal teams
* Collaborate with care, commercial, and client services teams to align priorities
* Ensure compliance with aged care regulations and internal standards
* Identify cost savings, supplier improvements, and process efficiencies
* Manage procurement risks and ensure transparency and probity
About You
You’re a practical, commercially minded professional with 3–6 years’ experience and a track record of delivering procurement outcomes in complex settings.
You Will Also Have
* Experience in procurement, commercial, or consulting roles
* Strong project delivery and stakeholder management skills
* Exposure to health or aged care (desirable)
* Knowledge of sourcing, contract, and supplier management
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
* Ability to balance competing priorities and work independently
* Commercial acumen with a strategic and hands-on approach
* Relevant qualifications; CIPS certification a plus
