About RUN

The Regional Universities Network (RUN) is a collaborative group of seven Australian universities focused on regional and national impact. RUN develops policy advice, engages with government officials, promotes member universities’ contributions, host forums, and undertakes joint projects. Its main goals are to advise on tertiary education and regional development, enhance regional universities roles in national progress, and improve institutional capacity through shared best practices.

Position Overview

RUN is looking for a Communications and Administration Assistant to join their team. This position is pivotal in supporting the day-to-day activities and broader goals of RUN. The opportunity is full-time, permanent and ideally based in Canberra however would consider remote arrangements for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

* Providing high-level executive and project support for RUN’s CEO, ensuring they are fully briefed and prepared for meetings

* Organising and coordinating with RUN’s network and committees, managing communications and logistics

* Managing social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, X), creating and scheduling content in line with RUN’s vision.

* Proactively managing the CEO’s inbox and calendar, ensuring efficient time management

* Coordinating travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodation, and conference reservations

* Processing credit card reconciliations, purchasing, and accounts payable/receivable, and monitor expenditure in line with policies

* Drafting and disseminating a wide range of communication materials, including reports, blogs, articles, presentations, and social media posts

* Assisting in drafting correspondence and documentation, ensuring proper distribution and follow-up

* Building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and collaboration

* Updating RUN’s website and social media platforms, monitor media and social media activity, and provide insight reports as required

* Lead the design initiatives to maintain a unified and cohesive visual identity across all materials

* Manage the RUN website

Skills and Knowledge:

* Ability to be proactive, show initiative, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.

* Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships

* Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.) and social media platforms

* A general understanding of media relations and corporate communications principles, including stakeholder engagement

Qualification and Experience:

* Recently completed a degree or qualification or equivalent experience

* Previous experience in higher education, vocational education and training, or a related industry

* Experience providing administrative support to senior and/or executive management.

* Experience in developing corporate communications materials for internal and external audiences
