About Morven State School
Morven State School, established in 1887, is located in the Darling Downs South West region and is part of the Charleville State Schools cluster. It is situated 90 km east of Charleville and 180 km west of Roma on the Warrego Highway. The school serves a community of approximately 150 residents, surrounded by sheep, goat, and cattle properties. About the Role
This position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include:
* Performing cleaning tasks such as cleaning windows, doors, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, cupboards, and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
* Maintaining equipment, controlling cobwebs and mildew using extendable tools, and cleaning various surfaces including concrete, asphalt, and paved areas.
* Dusting furniture and equipment, sweeping, vacuuming, removing graffiti, and maintaining floors through buffing, stripping, and polishing.
* Managing security tasks like activating/deactivating security systems and locking/unlocking buildings.
* liaising with the Principal or Business Manager about cleaning materials, reporting security or safety concerns, and referring public inquiries to appropriate personnel.
* Disposing of rubbish, controlling litter, removing materials from drains and gutters, and performing other cleaning duties as directed.
