About the opportunity:
The Pilot Training System (PTS) Program Operations Manager is a senior leadership opportunity on the AIR5428 Pilot Training System. You will provide overall leadership and management of the operations services covering the respective Site Leads, PROGOs, OPs, and FTD Sustainment teams.
You will be responsible for the technical performance of these Program operational elements, engaging with the Engineering, Training System leads as well as internal LM business areas, Team 21 subcontracted organisations, and external program stakeholders.
You will be the primary customer contact and interface for Program operational matters, working closely with customer organisations including ATSPO, AFTG, Air Academy (including 1FTS, 2FTS, CFS), ARDU and 4SQN to ensure operational activities are coordinated with all required stakeholders and relevant PTS Program KPI’s are met.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in a Senior Leadership & Management role in a Defence, Maintenance, and Training environment, with extensive experience in Aviation operations and Military Pilot Training System management and delivery execution.
To be considered for this opportunity you will ideally demonstrate:
- Extensive experience with Lean/Process Improvement Methods.
- An advanced understanding of interfaces between Programs & Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
- Extensive knowledge of AS4360 (Risk Management), ISO9001 (Quality Systems), and AS04817 (Earned Value Management).
- Extensive experience in financial management, contract management, and reporting.
