At Calvary Mater Newcastle (CMN), our Emergency Department provides a specialised focus on General Medicine, Oncology and Haematology, Palliative Care, Psychiatric and Clinical Toxicology presentations.

2. Salary Classification : Staff Specialist Level 1 Year 1-5
YOUR NEW ROLE:
The Staff Specialist is responsible for participation in the emergency medicine roster, provision of specialist consultation, supervision, medical education, research and administration. The Staff Specialist works within an inter-disciplinary team to ensure timely, appropriate care and effective discharge strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Provide clinical guidance and expertise to Junior Medical Officers within the Emergency Department.
4. Participate in the dissemination of knowledge and ideas through attendance at conferences, seminars and workshops.
5. Ensure patient care is delivered within professional and ethical boundaries, that reflects evidence based best practice.
What you bring:
6. A Primary Medical Degree registrable by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine.
7. Understanding of clinical governance principles, that promote quality and safety in health care with experience in evidence based best practice.
8. Commitment to undergraduate and post graduate teaching in medicine, nursing and Allied Health.
9. Demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine.
