About the Role
The Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children. This position requires working sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to address safety and wellbeing concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with other agencies and engage in complex problem-solving activities.
* Support families in formulating goals that align with their needs and provide assistance through home visits.
* Develop safety plans and conduct risk assessments.
* Manage cases and situations involving high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
* Participate in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attendance at hearings.
* Engage in individual and group supervision.
Requirements:
* Confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a genuine commitment to the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children.
* A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred; however, applicants with at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families may be considered.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to build positive working relationships.
* A valid driver's license and a current paid working with children clearance number are also required.
