We are seeking reliable and motivated Mechanical Workshop Assistants to join our professional dealership workshop network with expressions of Interest for permanent location based employment in our above locations of operations. (FIFO or DIDO Need Not Apply).
About the Role:
The role will assist in supporting Toyota Passenger & Light Commercial vehicles, the Isuzu UTE Vehicle range, and our Heavy Diesel operations in our Darwin operation including Hino and Iveco Trucks.
This role is ideally suited to someone passionate about the automotive industry — particularly individuals who may enjoy working on vehicles professionally with-out qualifications or as a personal interest or hobby, that are looking to turn that interest into a long-term career.
Working within multi-franchise dealership workshops in either Darwin (NT), Katherine (NT) or Kununurra (WA), you will provide hands-on support to qualified technicians carrying out service, repairs and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles including:
• Toyota Passenger Vehicles
• Toyota Light Commercial & Fleet Vehicles
• Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X Vehicles
• Hino & Iveco Heavy Vehicles (Darwin Only)
Key responsibilities include:
• Assisting technicians with servicing, repairs and vehicle preparation
• Preparing tools, parts and workstations
• Performing basic mechanical support tasks under supervision
• Supporting light vehicle and heavy diesel workshop operations
• Maintaining workshop cleanliness & safety standards
• Assisting with accessory installation and pre-delivery operations
About You:
We are looking for someone who demonstrates genuine enthusiasm, enjoys practical, hands-on work that is wanting to pursue a career in automotive workshops.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong interest in vehicles and mechanical work (including personal projects or hobbies)
• Desire to build a career in either light vehicle or heavy diesel mechanical trades (Mature Age Candidates Encouraged to Apply)
• Previous workshop or mechanical exposure preferred but is not essential
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow direction and work effectively within a team environment
• Current manual driver's licence (essential)
• Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to workplace safety
