About the Role
The position of Category and Contract Management Specialist is accountable for supporting all procurement matters. Role accountabilities include supporting sourcing, category management strategies and delivery thereof, contract administration, procurement related process control management, procurement documentation management, supplier performance management and dispute resolution management.
Responsibility of the Position
* Supports the manager in the development of resilient category management strategies that align to key business strategies, the PRA value proposition and product/solution lines.
* Supports the manager in delivering category management and sourcing outcomes that deliver to internal and external customer needs whilst delivering on PRA's revenue, cost, cash and working capital targets.
* Supports the manager in the development of actionable category management plans, targeting specific activities and areas of tangible opportunity based on market intelligence, fact‑based analysis and decision making.
* Contract administration, including preparation, execution, updating and amendment in line with contractual terms and conditions.
* Ensure all PRA procurement occurs under contract, in conformance with CAT and PRA procurement policy.
* Maintaining process, change, system controls across all PRA procurement contracts.
* Developing, drafting and executing procurement related contract documentation, request for quote (RFQ) request for proposal (tenders RFP) and contracts.
* Analysing and reporting on supplier performance, ensuring performance meets Progress Rail's safety, quality, lead‑time and cost expectations.
* Identify, mitigate and manage procurement, sourcing, category, contract and supplier related risk.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, including TPA, ACCC, legal principles and corporate policies and procedures.
* Ability to perform vendor audits as required.
Qualifications & Training
* Bachelor of Commerce, Business, Law or Engineering (Preferable).
* Experience with or qualifications in contract law and post‑graduate qualifications in strategic sourcing.
* Nationally recognised professional procurement/sourcing accreditation (university diploma or other recognised procurement industry body, for example CIPS, AAPCM (Desirable)).
* Working knowledge of continuous improvement/quality (six sigma, TQM, lean) (Desirable).
Experience and Knowledge
* Demonstrated experience in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or rail, aviation, logistics, mining or supply chain industry.
* 5 years plus of sourcing, category management or supply chain experience.
* Demonstrated rail industry knowledge, including regulations and regulators, rail operator parameters and SHE requirements. (desirable)
* High level of experience with ERP systems (D365 desirable).
* Demonstrable knowledge of quality processes and systems.
