About the role
This part-time Programs and Events Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to support the operations of the Immune Deficiencies Foundation of Australia (IDFA) in Wollongong, NSW. You will play a key role in delivering the organisation's calendar of programs and events that provide support and community for individuals living with primary and secondary immunodeficiencies.
What you'll be doing
1. Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of IDFA's programs and events, including workshops, community gatherings and fundraising initiatives
2. Provide administrative support such as booking venues, coordinating catering, managing RSVPs and attendee lists
3. Support the marketing and promotion of IDFA's programs and events through content creation, email communications and social media
4. Liaise with speakers, facilitators and other stakeholders to ensure smooth running of events
5. Maintain accurate records and databases related to IDFA's programs and events
6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of IDFA's event management processes and procedures
What we're looking for
1. 1-2 years' experience in event coordination or project management, ideally within the not-for-profit sector
2. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders
4. Creative flair and an eye for detail to produce high-quality marketing and promotional content
5. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite and event management software
6. Empathy and compassion for individuals living with health challenges
