Location of work: Canberra
We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to join our team at a federal government department in Canberra.
Responsibilities
* Manage the implementation of the test strategy across all projects/change
* Implement and adhere to testing methods and standards
* Assist various teams with testing activities (this may include peer reviews, walk throughs)
* Provide testing effort estimates and progress for project management and planning activities
* Identify process improvements and assist in their implementation
* Support projects to achieve project objectives by ensuring that testing requirements are scoped, planned and managed effectively
* Ensure that change is delivered into production in accordance with agreed standards and timeframe with quality outcomes
* Develop and guide business owners to reach agreement on stakeholder test requirements
* Review and approve all test plans and strategies
* Assist in the production release and review of all test deliverables
* Ensure that the test environment requirements are clearly documented and agreed
* Execution of test scripts (when required)
* Adhere to the Defect Management strategy to manage defects
* Produce metrics to measure testing quality and progress
* Highlight risks, issues and assumptions identified during test planning, design or execution and communicate them to the Project/Delivery Manager, taking preventative action when appropriate
* Work closely with business to clarify test requirements during test planning, design and execution
About You
* In depth knowledge of all aspects of software testing - testing techniques used to plan and execute tests (functional and non-functional) to verify that the change satisfies specified requirements and to detect errors
* Proficient in Test Management techniques - principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of the testing process and the execution of tests throughout the lifecycle of development projects
* Provide test estimations and work with the team to these timeframes for upcoming work
* Strong experience in the preparation and maintenance of test plans, test cases, test results and defect reporting
* Experience in application, accessibility, system integration and mobile device testing
* Experience using Azure DevOps, BrowserStack, ServiceNow, SAP, SIAM frameworks
* Strong knowledge and understanding of testing practices and processes in agile and waterfall project environment
* Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving and time management skills
